Day 19- IS lesson

IS lesson was at 1pm today.
topic: Introduction to Business
I learnt that in China there are several rules and regulation to abide by. For example, we learnt that we are not to give costly present to our business partners as others may find it as a form of bribery. Secondly, it is important to know Chinese to communicate with their local as the use of English may result in miscommunication. Thirdly, we are to avoid inauspicious number like 4.

In china, its hard to execute e-commerce due to the network problems in China.

At around 3.30pm, the deputy principal of Ngee Ann polytechnic came to visit us and gave us a few word of advice. A few shots were taken after the end of the speech.

Near the end of the lesson, Miss hong told us to write our impression towards China and she explains the reason behind it. In china., food and clothing are sold very cheaply however, we must not forget that they too earn very little as compared to Singapore. A university graduate in China may only receive a starting pay of 1800rmb to 2000rmb which is ( 300 to 400 Sing Dollars)

Had dinner at 麻辣空间( steamboat)
me and winnie
a mini zip lock bag to protect our phone when placed on the table
girls has hair bands for better hygiene and convenience

Frankly speaking the customer service level of the restaurant can be matched to those in Singapore.  I feel that in China, good customer service can only be found in restaurants with pricier food.

reflection:
though it is expected that good customer service level comes with a posh restaurant, expensive food and clean toilet, i think it would be good to practice some basic courtesy and speak considerately to one another when it comes to selling foods and necessities on the street. Loud speaking and swearing could be heard on the street most of the times and i think that it would give a bad impression towards tourist. Maybe its time for people to make a move to give way to one another to enjoy a better life and treat one another in a more friendly way towards stranger.
